Have you always loved Christmas? If you want to get more ideas about how to create a beautiful handmade Christmas, you have come to the right place.

Making Christmas decorations is so important to me that I wanted to have an entire blog about them. I concentrate on crocheted and knitted decorations. See also lots of crocheted Christmas decoration tutorials on my popular YouTube channel!

The top photo on this page is a decoration we had in my childhood home. My mother had it before she was married. I love it! Mother taught me to knit and crochet when I was 5. From a very young girl it has been important for me to create my own patterns instead of using existing ones. When studuying textiles my diploma project was designing and making a series of five Christmas textiles.

For many years  I used to spend the last four months of the year in making Christmas decorations. I sold them at craft fairs around the country. This was in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where I used to live. Those were lovely years. Then many of my items were sewn.

In recent years I have moved mostly to knitting and crochet from weaving, feltmaking and sewing. Here some of the sewn decorations that I have later made knitted or crocheted versions for:

This blog is partly a nostalgic journey back to those years. Welcome to join me!

Christmas joy,
